Hi, I’m Nu.

I was inspired to start Hide & Hammer because I have always loved leather and wood. When I was growing up, my grandfather taught me how to appreciate the fine details in the functional items that people walk past every day, and I try to apply this to everything I create.

I started working with leather more than ten years ago, teaching myself to a basic level, before taking an apprenticeship with a local saddler. Before my maternity leave, I worked hand-stitching bespoke bridles, some of which were worn by the British dressage Olympic gold champions.

In my downtime, I love listening to 1940s music, and walking in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside with my husband, daughter and our cool Hungarian Vizsla dog, Hutch. As well as working with leather, I crochet and have recently rediscovered the meditative art of spinning. I am also an obsessive knitter.
